BIG IDEAS
Taking its roots from the National Curriculum programme of study for History and Geography, our Big Ideas curriculum has been developed by our staff for our children. It is based on six key concepts that enable children to make links across the curriculum and throughout their learning journey in school; Civilisations, Sustainability, Different and Equal, Exploration, Cause and Consequence, continuity and change. These six units of work are taught in a two year cycle so that by the time our children reach the end of Year 6 they have embedded, developed and explaored their learning in these areas three times.
